Hughes Krupica – CSR/ESG – Phuket Elders Public Aid – Donation of Essential Items

The Phuket Elders Public Aid organisation is a product of Phuket Province collaborating with the Department of Social Development and Welfare to establish the Phuket Home for the Elderly to provide care and support for elderly people in distress. There are approximately 80 elderly people in permanent residence. About only 40 of the elderly people can join activities downstairs. Some of the elders are bedridden and therefore can’t join.

The staff informed us there are a certain number of donees who donate the essentials and engage in activities to entertain the elderly people but more is always welcome.

Even though the Phuket Social Welfare Development Center for elderly people is a government facility with an existing budget allocation, it may takes time to process budget requests for purchasing essentials and covering medical expenses for the elderly plus there is as would be expected, a shortfall.

Therefore, it is essential for the organisation to seek donations to maintain operations to a better standard.

Hughes Krupica supported with donation of essential items and had conversations with the elderly people there.
